Aaron is married and teaching biology and environmental science at an alternative high school for at-risk youth in Minneapolis, MN. He is still investigating cryptobiosis in tardigrades. His most recent project is a new website for the school. In this picture, Aaron and his brothers Wayne and Adam are river rafting in Colorado.

Jenn Chapin (Biology, 1997)

Jenn received her PhD from Northwestern University in 2004; her thesis involved the regulation, as it is defined by protein-protein interactions, of Cubitus interruptus, the product of a segment polarity gene responsible for anteroposterior development of the Drosophila embryo and imaginal disks.

Aaron is Vice President of Research and Development at EnerG2, a Seattle company which engineers advanced materials for energy storage. A 3-2 engineer at North Central, Aaron received a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Washington. Stephen Gasparovich (Biology, 1997)

Steve completed his pediatric dentistry residency at The Ohio State University in 2006, where he earned a Masters in Oral Biology and a certificate in pediatric dentistry. Steve is currently a Major-select in United States Air Force and he is stationed in Bitburg, Germany at Spangdahlem AFB. He welcomes anyone with questions about a career in dentistry or the military.

Lori completed her Obstetrics/Gynecology residency with Maricopa Integrated Health System in Phoenix, AZ and has joined Female Healthcare Associates, a multiple-physician practice based out of Central DuPage and Alexian Brothers hospitals in Bloomindale, IL. Phil completed his Master's from Arizona State and is currently living in Phoenix while he completes his Ph.D. coursework in American Politics at ASU. Lori and Phil purchased a home in Wheaton, and he will complete his dissertation from there.

Kim is an account manager with Lab Support, a division of On Assignment, Inc., that specializes in placing scientists in laboratories for varying lengths of time. Kim enjoys her work because she is always learning new applications of science. Kim welcomes hearing from present and former students, including those looking for a laboratory position.

Sarah taught 6th grade science (as well as a variety of other topics) as a part of the Teach for America program in Oakland, CA during the 1998-1999 school year. She earned a Master's degree in teaching at National Louis University to prepare her for a career as a middle-school science teacher.

Stacy completed the cytotechnology program in 1998 at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI and received board certification through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She now works at Palm Beach Pathology in West Palm Beach, FL as a cytotechnologist. Her work involves screening for pre-cancerous and cancerous cells.

After graduation Jen worked at NALCO Chemical Company in Naperville for several years. She's now a science teacher at Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet City, Illinois.

Ron received his PhD in Molecular and Developmental Biology from the University of Cincinnati in 2005. He is now a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Kenneth Campbell's lab in the Division of Developmental Biology at the Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati. The primary focus of his research is on the development of brain structures originating from the ventral telencephalon. Ron married Lisa Ehrman shortly after finishing his PhD; Ron and Lisa live in Cincinnati and work together at the Children's Hospital Research Foundation.
