Dr. Marsh retired in 2002 after 33 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the Biology department and to North Central College. Dr. Marsh was both a gifted teacher and a strong supporter of student research who made it possible for many students to present their work at regional and national meetings. He held the Harold and Eva White Distinguished Professor in the Liberal Arts chair for his last several years of active teaching. He also logged more than 175,000 miles on trips with students during his career. In retirement, he is continuing freshwater bryozoan research with Dr. Timothy S. Wood, Professor of Biology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He is also collecting and researching gas pressure lanterns, lamps, and related appliances.
