Convergent Media
What is convergent media anyway? You need only look as far as your cell phone for an example. Cell phones are not just portable telephones anymore. They can be TVs, cameras, personal organizers, games, mp3 players, mobile browsers and text readers all in one device.
Companies recognize the need to win customers using new distributive technologies, in addition to traditional print or broadcast methods, as part of a mixed communications strategy. In the convergent media track, you will explore ways to adapt a single message for print, broadcast and online delivery, blending text, animation, audio and graphics. The emphasis of convergent media is on writing for multimedia where copy supports visual and audio productions for advertisements, webpages and slideshows. Along with honing your writing skills for a variety of media, you will learn audio editing, graphic manipulation, video production and web development skills.
